Everything You Need for a Comfortable Stay in Funchal

Our stay at the Yellow Rose was wonderful. The flat had all the amenities for two that we needed for our 4 week stay. We prepared some stay-in meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It even had a novel little latte machine that made delicious lattes.

Our stay at the Yellow Rose was wonderful. The flat had all the amenities for two that we needed for our 4 week stay. We prepared some stay-in meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It even had a novel little latte machine that made delicious lattes.
We had a minor issue with a bedside lamp. After we informed the manager, staff was alerted and the lamp was repaired quickly by a polite handyman. We were impressed. There was a devoted parking space for our rental on the ground level. The space is protected from the environment, making things easier should it be raining. It was a short 6 minute drive to a parking garage next to the cable car terminal. That gave us easy access to the Funchal waterfront and to the old town. Note: Like many areas on Madeira, you do need to use caution when driving to and from the Yellow Rose. Some roads are steep and tight. For experience drivers, it's nothing unmanageable. For newer or timid drivers, it may prove to be a bit challenging. Again this true for many other areas of Madeira as well. We will definitely consider the Yellow Rose for our next visit to Madeira. Great location, great service team and a marvelous view from from the balcony. During our stay in June, we watched a fireworks display from the balcony. We confidently recommend the Yellow Rose as a top contender for your next stay. |

More along the lines of a value added suggestion. It would be nice to have access to electrical adapters. Our (U.S.) devices were compatible with the 220 voltage, but they did not have the correct plug to fit the European style receptacles. We did pusee more

Our (U.S.) devices were compatible with the 220 voltage, but they did not have the correct plug to fit the European style receptacles. We did purchase a couple 3 euro adapters. They worked for some devices, but not for the polarized plugs. For those we picked up a 20 euro adapter from Wortens that did the trick. That adapter also had a USB port.
